Dons snap up Swansea striker

The pacey striker, who can play anywhere across the front three, will wear the number 22 shirt and remain with the Dons until 19th April.

Speaking to mkdons.com, Dons boss Karl Robinson said: “He’s quick, he’s a good size and I like the fact he’s grounded in the Swansea way. I believe his dad used to play too so there’s football in his blood.

“I had a good chat with him this morning and he’s a well mannered young man. He can play anywhere across the top three but he ultimately wants to be a number 9. He’s something different and he can handle the ball well too.

“It’s his first loan spell away and he needs to adjust from under-21s football to men’s football. But, he wants to get better and we’re excited at the prospect of working with him.”

Born in Llanelli, Loveridge sign his first professional contract with Swansea City this past summer and is regarded as a bright prospect at the Liberty Stadium.

The striker has played a pivotal role in the City’s youth-team over the past two seasons and has scored a number of impressive goals, most notably against Liverpool, Portsmouth and Manchester United in the Swans’ run to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup in 2012/13.

He was also part of the FAW Welsh Cup winning sides of 2011 and 2012.

Loveridge has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Welsh club and will experience his first taste of senior football with the Dons between now and the middle of next month.
