Dons swoop for Sanmi Odelusi

21 February 2014

MK Dons have signed Bolton Wanderers forward Sanmi Odelusi on an initial one-month youth loan, subject to Football League approval.

Odelusi, 20, sealed the switch earlier this afternoon and will link up with his new team-mates tonight ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League 1 clash with Bradford City.

The winger, who is eligible to make his debut in the clash at Valley Parade, will remain at stadiummk up to and including the Stevenage fixture on 22nd March. He will wear the number 27 shirt.

Born in Dagenham, Odelusi spent time with Queens Park Rangers and Reading before joining the Bolton Academy set-up in 2009.

The youngster signed a one-year professional deal with the Trotters in July 2012 and made his first senior appearance the following March as an 82nd-minute substitute in a 3-2 defeat to Charlton Athletic.

It was in his full debut earlier this season when Odelusi really burst on to the scene, scoring twice in Wanderers’ 3-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town in August. Odelusi’s second goal that evening earned him the club’s Goal of the Month award.

The 20-year-old has since made a further seven appearances for the Trotters with five of those coming in the Championship.
