George Williams says MK Dons are eager to improve on a rollercoaster 2019/20 season.
The Dons finished a disappointing 19th in Sky Bet League One under the points-per-game system but head into the new season with optimism after a strong finish under new boss Russell Martin.
“It was a bit of a rollercoaster season, whether it be on the pitch or off the pitch with this Covid-19 situation,” Williams told MKFM during the MK Dons Virtual Awards Night.
“When Russell came in, he said the aim was to stay up and we’ve managed to do that, one way or another after what was not the best start, but it’s one we’ll be looking to improve on next season.”

Williams was speaking after being awarded the Community Ambassador award, recognising his work off the pitch in engaging with the people of Milton Keynes.
“It means a lot to win this award,” he said. “Being involved in the community means a lot to us as a Club and it’s important that we, as players, play a big role in that – whether that’s going to schools or different communities and showing our faces.”
