Callum Tripp wins League Two Apprentice of the Season at EFL Awards

MK Dons midfielder Callum Tripp has won the Sky Bet League Two Apprentice of the Season award.

Tripp, who was shortlisted alongside Crewe Alexandra's Calum Agius and Grimsby Town's Cameron Gardner, received the honour at the 2024 EFL Awards on Sunday.

He becomes the third player MK Dons player to win an Apprentice of the Season award following on from Brendan Galloway in 2014 and Lewis Johnson in 2021.

In a breakthrough season, Tripp has made his senior FA Cup and league debut for MK Dons and is now involved in a promotion push on loan at St Albans in the National League South.

That loan has also yeiled silverware, with the 17-year-old starting and scoring in the Saints' victory over Berkhamstead in the Herts Senior County Cup final.

He was announced as the Sky Bet League Two Apprentice of the Season at the 2024 EFL Awards, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday 14 April.

There was further recognition for MK Dons on the night, with nominations for Mike Williamson and Max Dean for League Two Manager of the Season and League Two Young Player of the Season respectively.
